In an effort to help protect our flying fuzzy friends, and part of the Hazel Meadow restoration project was to install a few bat condos . These boxes attract the bats that come and eat all those nasty bugs that give campers the willies. Along the nature boardwalk there is a station that explains a little about the bats and shows species common to the area.

EID and volunteers have been working for past few years to restore the Hazel Creek Meadow, and I have to say great job! There are nature stations that teach along the path and the views are spectacular.

Monday, January 18th, 2010With the storms this week we are expecting record rainfall and snowpack. I for one am looking forward to watching the lake rise in anticipation of another great year of watersports.

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009Last Saturday the 19th my wife Caralyn broke her foot while hiking through the park. We just wanted to say thank you to the staff at EID, ENF, El Dorado Fire Department and all the nice people that came to her rescue. Caralyn had to have surgery. She is at home now and working her way towards recovery. Thanks again to everyone who helped her out.
